ET: You are not a grape so you can't be easily crushed, how about you dancing on the table after having the rice wine dessert?

Maybe. If I don't have to wear a nametag & if Faina promises to dance.

Found out from the Fodor's editor that one of my posts on the Asia forum was quoted in the 1st edition Shanghai guide in bookstores today! I'm trying to see if they will offer me a free copy ...

Faina, keep rehearsing, I do want to see/meet you. I'm really considering this...but I'm also really bad about making commitments. If I were to just "show up," is that kosher? (I wouldn't expect to participate in the dinner.)

Do the unquoted have to sit at a separate table from the quoted?

I love Arlington Cemetary and would be happy to take a day to pick you out a lovely plot.

Congratulations Shanghainese!! 15 minutes of fame has now been extended to 20, for you!

Now for champagne and teacups...I'm going to have to think about this one. Maybe no champagne, but I can buy a white to complement ET's Bastardo?

From random readings on Fodors, it seems like Bill and Martin don't drink. However, since we'll be using teacups, maybe we could surreptitiously spike their tea? :-"

For that we need vodka...

Faina, what's the best brand of vodka?

Mels: guess the wine list is up to us!

Since I learned that I am quoted in the new Kaua'i book, my head has inflated up to be the size of a large helium ballon, so I may have trouble getting in through the door. By the way, I will be signing autographs. No worries, I will be bring 8 x 10 glossies to sign for all of my adoring fan.

ET,
I won't be responsible for my actions if I drink that doctored tea. That last time I drank (20 years ago), the police showed up and I got my picture in the paper. Wouldn't that be fun!?

Bill

Iamq if this is the case this year, you won't have to pay to print those glossies

Now, I am really getting scared. First, there's no broccoli/beef. That's bad enough, BUT now I'm having this visual of Mels and Shang holding me down on the table while Faina pours Vodka down my gullet one tea cup at a time. That would be a hard one to explain to my friends at my meetings!
