Senior Moment remembering a place!

Months ago I had noticed an excursion on line. Had to postpone the trip and can't find the info. I had found a very low key, small boat ride through some type of cavern in Kentucky. I can't recall if it involved an actual cave as the highlight, or just kind of an underground ride, maybe under a city? Someone commented on TripAdvisor that it looked like there were even some items stored in this area, but a fair amount of people did enjoy the ride! If this sounds familiar, I'd be grateful to know the name. I thought this was somewhere around Louisville, Lexington, or Bowling Green. Thanks.

Not in KY but I NY, near the end of the tour of How Caverns they did a short ride on the river. They shut off the lights at one point to give an idea of how dark it really was down there.

Bon Voyage - I did read about Lost River but that wasn't it - but, thanks so much for mentioning! oldemalloy - and thanks so much for your reply! I have been researching Indiana also which might be a stretch, but I still think this was based in Kentucky somewhere. More like a route under a city area, but definitely by water.

I didn't read any links above, but here's what I found about Mammoth in KY:

"A Tour of the Cave and Valley includes a 20-minute Historical River Walk to the Cave opening emphasizing history, geology/hydrology, and folklore; followed by a 20-to-25 minute Boat Tour into the cave. The boat tour enables the visitor to view the large rooms of the cave and its other interesting features"

starrs - I am pretty certain I have been looking for the Louisville Mega Cavern, and stand corrected that it's a tram rather than a boat tour! In all my searching, hadn't come up with a search that included this place, so THANK YOU! TDudette and everyone else - your other info is a BIG help too, for future mini-trips south of home (Cincinnati). Thanks again!

LadyVic, it was fascinating to read about all the caving activities in this area so thanks for that.

You are welcome! I had no idea but wanted to try to figure it out. Glad that link was helpful. Now I know what to do if I have an extra day in Louisville - if we ever start traveling again.

A lawyer friend of mine was a national park ranger at Mammoth Cave. I was surprised to learn she had been a ranger (what I wanted to do) and even more surprised her posting was in caverns. Very cool.

Happy travels to Louisville.
