Sedona Hyatt Pinon Pointe
We are returning to Sedona for our third, and longest stay. Previous visits have been from one to three days -- now a week. We have booked the Hyatt Pinon Pointe. Any of you have any experiences at that lodging? Any tips on what we must do in Sedona; restaurants we must visit? We already love the area.

ceg...We were guests there Thanksgiving week! It was very much open.
Doaj, I wrote a pretty lengthy description of rooms and location just within the week on another note...you should be able to pull that up if you do a text search. We had a two bedroom unit....they've done a beautiful job with the decor. Kitchens are fully equipped right down to granite counter tops and great appliances...all the utensils etc you could need.
We were there to hike primarily and did about 6 different ones in 5 days. If you are interested I can give you more info on that or lead you to one of the websites I used for planning our hikes

If you haven't already, you should check out Enchantment Resort. Go there for lunch (or even dinner) at the Yavapai Room. You will need reservations ahead of time. French restaurant at L'Auberge is nice, but
expensive. We like Heartline Cafe. Take Oak Creek Canyon drive. Try a jeep tour.

to OliveOyl -- your review was the one that got me seriously looking at the Hyatt. We saw it under construction last year, talked to the Chamber, talked to a Sedona realtor after reading your post. We have now seen pictures, have a rate that pleases us and have received some wonderful ideas of what to do and see. At the present time our temperatures are -3 degrees so I can't wait.

August in Arizona is not a good time for hiking unless you get up early and get going before the heat of the day. Take plenty of water and drink it before you become thirsty. One quart per hour per person. Especially, be careful that kids do not become dehydrated. True, Sedona will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the Phoenix area. But be warned that you should be done hiking by 10 a.m.
