chepar, go to www.weatherbase.com and check out the historical data for Seattle and any comparison cities. I have lived in the Midwest, on both coasts (and the Gulf coast) and I can say with assurance that Seattle's annual rainfall is less than anywhere else I have lived.

Seattle has lovely weather. We mostly keep it a secret because it's crowded enough here already ;-)

The driest 80 day period in Seattle history now.

But that's nothing compared to the Oregon coast, which is the one area in the lower 48 which is having the coldest year, relatively speaking, so far.
