Seattle rain

We were supposed to get a break yesterday after 31 days with no measurable precipitation. Didn't happen.

lennyba Aug 24th, 2012 01:45 PM

Bummer. Let's talk again in January.

spirobulldog Aug 24th, 2012 04:18 PM

Well, you should be here in Oklahoma with me then. I was just in Seattle a couple of weeks ago. I'd take your weather over ours.

Bobmrg Aug 27th, 2012 10:02 AM

lennyba, my post was directed toward those posters who say "I understand that it always rains in Seattle...what should I pack?".

happytrailstoyou Aug 27th, 2012 10:13 AM

Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering.

lennyba Aug 27th, 2012 11:10 AM

Ah. Thought you were complaining about the tedious sunshine.

roundthebend Aug 27th, 2012 02:45 PM

Nothing's better than Seattle in the summertime.

Bobmrg Aug 28th, 2012 08:04 AM

Today marks the 36th day...chance of showers, with the possibility of showers getting better tomorrow.

suze Aug 28th, 2012 08:48 AM

It's gonna rain tomorrow.

tomfuller Aug 28th, 2012 09:21 AM

The Fodors Guides think it is going to rain in Spain.
Whats with the ads in the original posts?

September has been crazy dry too!

Bobmrg Oct 1st, 2012 07:45 AM

Total rainfall for September was .03". Sorry, suze, that prediction did not pan out...at the airport, anyway.

spirobulldog Oct 1st, 2012 07:57 AM

Is this a travel blog or weather channel?

suze Oct 1st, 2012 10:35 AM

Well visitors are *always* asking about the rain in Seattle and I believe this IS a travel forum.

Chiming in--we are enjoying beautiful fall weather in Seattle.

Spirobulldog, two things are always fodder for discussion when Seattle is the topic: "It always rains in Seattle," and the identification of the Pike Place Market.

<b>.03 total July 21 to the present</b>

On the bright side, Seattle has been <I>immune</i> to "Global Warming" in recent years.

Nobody has invented (what they'll call) <b>Global Drying</b> yet.

Just an FYI...it has been HOT in San Diego this Summer. We are in middle of a heat wave again this week was 107 inland San Diego today.

2 weeks ago it was 102 at the coast...I'd like to move back home to Seattle.

I'm enjoying reading about the Seattle rain (or current lack thereof) because I'm planning a trip there next June.

Since I have heard so much about how rainy Seattle is, I'm finding this thread interesting.

NorthwestMale Oct 2nd, 2012 08:54 PM

Next June it will be <i>considerably chilly</i>... as that is the <b>new local weather pattern</b>, brought to you by, yes, you guessed it: <b>"global warming"</b>.

In two of the last five Junes here, the temps have topped out at 66 and 67 degrees for the month, at nearby Boeing Field in Seattle.

The others were 78, 76, and 73 for month-high temps.
