Restaurant Recommendations Carmel by the Sea & Monterey

My 23 year old daughter and myself will be staying in Carmel by the Sea next weekend. Any suggestions for restaurants in the area and things to see and do? Thanks

I think Tess gave the wonderful suggestion of Christopher's in Carmel on the last thread of same topic...and everyone has been delighted with it. More?

Oh, I forgot to add that I always try to get to Peppers in Pacific Grove for delicious Mexican food in a great atmosphere.

Drive about 10 mile south of Carmel on Highway 1 to Rocky Point restaurant. Fantastic views and great food.

Hi CB -

Do you want restaurants in our downtown area that you can walk to?

A few of our favorites are: Bouchee, Casanova, Little Napoli, Mission Ranch (the Sun. Jazz Brunch is really nice) and the Pacific's Edge @ the Highland's Inn. There is also a casual restaurant at the HI called California Market. You can sit outside and take in the gorgeous views of the coastline.

In Carmel Valley, we enjoyed a very nice lunch at the Bernardus Lodge called Wickets. Bernardus and Chateau Julien are very good places to wine taste in the Carmel Valley.

If you take the 17 Mile Drive, try to have a meal at Roy's. If you go at sunset you can hear the bagpiper play.

Pt. Lobos State Reserve is not-to-miss, we also enjoyed the Carmel Mission. Shopping is fun at the Carmel Plaza.

We spent the day in Monterey a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a nice dinner at the Duck Club. It is located at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa which is a gorgeous property. We enjoyed strolling the wharf in Monterey and had a nice lunch outside at Isabella's. It is a Tene Shake restaurant, you may have seen his cooking shows on televion.

Some places we enjoy dining in Monterey include: Tarpey's Roadhouse, the Sardine Factory, The Whaling Station, Cafe Fina and Domenico's on the wharf. I have heard great things about Stokes in Monterey, you may want to consider them for one of your meals. There is also Schooner's Bistro @ the Plaza, their casual restaurant. They make some great fish and chips here.

Have a great time on the coast and please report back with us on how it goes! ***kim***

LOL, Beachbum. ;-)
Anyway, my faves are:
Pacific Grove: Red House Cafe for lunch. Toasties and First Awakenings for breakfast.
Monterey: Monterey's Fish house for dinner. Old Monterey Cafe for breakfast.
Carmel: Bahama Billy's for lunch or dinner.
Carmel Valley: Los Laureles Lodge for lunch.

If you like seafood, try Passion Fish in Pacific Grove. Very nice.

I'm here with a chuckle and pooper scooper. I asked CBl30911 a question and it was never answered. I think she or he is long gone.
