Seattle - June Trip help

My husband and I planning a trip to Seattle during the first or the second week of June. 1. Which is better? We plan to spend 7-10 days depending on what we will do. As I understand we do not need a car in the city, however, we are interested in the day trips outside Seattle. 2. What are the best paces to go without a car? We also contemplating a trip to Victoria (will rent a car). 3. How many days do we need to see Victoria? Considering our plans; 4. How many days do we need for the whole Trip?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Mt. Rainier is the most popular day trip out of Seattle. It can be done on a Gray Line Tour.

You can take a ferry to Bainbridge Island. Have lunch in the little town of Winslow--no need for a car.

You can take the Victoria Clipper to Victoria--no need for a car.

You can take Amtrak to Vancouver--no need for a car.

There must be a way to get between Victoria and Vancouver without a car. How about this?

Seattle
Victoria, via Victoria Clipper
Vancouver
Seattle, via Amtrak

In your planning, keep in find that June is not a summer month in this area! Our summer usually starts shortly after July 4.

There must be a way to get between Victoria and Vancouver without a car.

There are several. The fastest and most expensive way is to take a float plane with Harbour Air or West Coast Air. The cost is approximately $120 per person (one way). The flight takes 35 minutes.

For more money you can go by helicopter with HeliJet, although they don't bring you to downtown Victoria - they drop you off at the Victoria Airport which is a half hour drive away from downtown Victoria.

Another way is to go by Pacific Coach Lines. You pick them up at the main bus terminal outside of downtown Vancouver (or you call and make a reservation for them to pick you up at your hotel). They drive you 45 minutes south of downtown Vancouver to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal then they drive on the ferry. During the 1.5 hour ferry journey, you get out of the bus and you roam the ferry until you arrive at Swartz Bay ferry terminal on Vancouver Island. Everyone boards the bus again and the bus drives off the ferry and down the highway for another 30 minutes before arriving in downtown Victoria.

All together Pacific Coach Lines costs about $40 per person and takes about 4 hours.

Of course, you could always navigate the local bus system from Vancouver to Tsawwassen and then walk on the ferry, then take the bus from Swartz Bay to Victoria. It's the cheapest, although by far the longest taking at least 5-6 hours to get between the 2 cities.

There.

If you go to Victoria, B.C., remember to bring your passport. A fun side trip is to the rain forest in north west Washington

Going from Seattle to Victoria on the Victoria Clipper is great. You can do it as a day trip but an overnight is better (i believe it's about 4 hours each way?).

So you can rent a car if you want to drive to Mt Rainier, Whidbey Island, Pprt Townsend, etc. but not for the Victoria part.

You won't need a car for you days in downtown Seattle, that's correct.

We took the Clipper to Victoria for our wedding a couple of years ago. IIRC, it's more like 2.5-3 hrs one way. They had some hotel packages at the time that were good deals. I personally think Victoria deserves more than an afternoon.

As for question #1 - do you mean weatherwise? Early June isn't always (or even often) summer weather yet.
