Seattle in July

Hi all, Been lurking for a day or two.
We are flying in July. Plan on staying 4-5 days. So far we plan on no car. I have read the traffic is nutz. So after we get off the plane, will the bus take our luggage?
Plan on staying downtown and walk or take the bus? We would like to try the Victoria Clipper to Victoria for a overnight. Are the packages worth it? Of course we want to see Pike Place.
Thank you for any input.

I live here, but I always take a taxi to and from SeaTac myself (to downtown it should be around $35).

Where is your hotel? If it's right downtown, you should be able to take a Metro bus from Seatac (00 exit) for a couple of bucks. Bus # is 174 or 194 -- you will want the express. Research it by going to the King County Metro website.

With no car, you'll have to take the Clipper to Victoria. Yes, it's worth it.

One option in between Metro Bus $2 and a taxi for $30+... is the Greyline Airporter. It is a bus that does a loop of downtown Seattle hotels, leaving every 1/2 hour. I believe the cost is about ~$9.25 per person. You can 'google' - there's a website.

My wife and I did something similar to what you're thinking about, including the Victoria overnight, last summer. We agreed that next time we go to Victoria, it will be via float-plane. More dollars for sure, but much less time and hassle than standing in Victoria Clipper lines. Nothing particularly memorable about the ride on the Victoria Clipper either.

Thanks all! We are still in the planning stages. We have found a BB in the Capital Hill area. It is on the Trolley line.
has anyone stayed at Mildreds BB?

Wife has found a Clipper trip with a tour of the Gardens and the city with a overnight.
