Seating at Mama's Fish House

I am making dinner reservations to see the sunset (should be about 7:15 when i am there on july 16). The woman I emailed to make the reservation said she'd put in a request for a window seat. Is there indoor/outdoor seating? If so, which is better for a romantic evening? Thanks!

Mama's was originally a beach house with an open floor plan. All of the seating is inside, but the whole place is open. The windows all around the back of the house open up, blurring the line between inside and outside, especially along the window. Anywhere they seat you will be romantic, especially after dark.

There isn't outdoor seating, but the best seats are the ones close to the windows. The whole restaurant is pretty open-air, though. Oh, and just FYI..you won't actually SEE the sun set from Mama's, because it sets on the other side of the island. But, I'm sure the changing sky and "sunset atmosphere" will be pretty, too. For a true sunset view, you'll have to eat on the other side (Wailea, Lahaina, Kaanapali). You'll love Mama's, though!

Travelisfun, thanks, you are the first one to point out that you can't see the sun set from Mama's Fish House. There are many posts on this forum from people raving about seeing the sun set at Mama's! I am sure there will be many who will now protest that they actually DID see the sun set at Mama's. Unfortunately the sun sets in the west !!

While Mama's is on the north shore, and it faces more northwest than due west, and you still get a lovely sunset sky. But the sun does not set over the water as it does in Kihei or Ka`anapali, but rather over west Maui.

I recall a crimson sky fading over deep blue water before a soft moonlight caresses the tropical shoreline. (Just like Rusty says )
