Hi everyone ~ could you please recommend the best way to get from SEATAC to Belltown? We are staying at The Edgewater. Thanks so much for your help!

Locals will likely give you other/better options. But if it was me, I'd take the light rail to Westlake and then a short cab ride (a mile or less) to the hotel

The Edgewater is really not in Belltown; it's at the bottom of a rather steep bluff. I'd just take a towncar, cab or Uber right from the airport.

It's an okay budget option but quite a lot more hassle. A cab would take around 25 minutes; the train plus cab alternative would take an hour or considerably more. What's your time worth?

You don't have to walk down the hill. There is a pedestrian overpass on Bells Street that takes you to the waterfront a few hundred feet from the Edgewater. There is an elevator in the Market, too, but that is a longer walk to the hotel.

Light Rail is good but doesn't get you near enough to your hotel, so then you'd be having to deal with a taxi, uber/lyft from Westlake Station to the hotel.

Personally (I live in Seattle) I always just take a taxi directly from the airport. To me it's worth the expense for the convenience. Figure about $50usd.

The market elevator is out of order, or was as of a few weeks ago. According to the graffiti on the sign, it’s been out of order for a long time. (I think there may be more than 1 market elevator, but I know for sure one is out of order). It’s very easy to walk to the bell street skybridge and then to the Edgewater, it’s about a 20 minute walk.

like someone else mentioned, it depends on how you value your time. I’d rather not spend 50 dollars to avoid a 20 minute walk, but I like walking.

I really appreciate everyone’s super helpful information! We were thinking the light rail to Westlake was what we’d do but the taxi is sounding like so much less of a hassle. We will be traveling very light - just a small 10-pound backpack for each of us. For our last night, we are staying at The Warwick. It looks like a much easier walk to Westlake station, am I right?

That's not exactly an accurate comparison. That 50 bucks is for 2-4 people, and also avoids walking to the Light Rail Station at SeaTac (10 mins), waiting for the next train ~10 mins., paying $3.25 per person, then taking a 40 mins. train ride to downtown, THEN walking to the Edgewater with luggage in hand, 20 mins more.

Or what would be a 25 mins. taxi ride for the couple/group, directly from the airport to their hotel.

Yes, I agree. I think we probably will just take a taxi to simplify things.

I only noticed recently when I was grabbing LightRail from downtown back to Pioneer Square (opposite way I'd usually do it)... because I'd always assumed that Westlake Station was under Westlake Center (mall)... wrong!
