SEATAC Area Car Rental: Avis or Hertz
I want and try and rent a car from either Hertz or Avis in the SEATAC area and not have to pay the Airport taxes, its a difference of over 100.00 dollars so I was thinking about taking a shuttle, cab transportation to a close Avis or Hertz.
Has anyone tried to do this? If so any recommendations on convinent ways to get from Seatac Airport to Avis/Hertz location?.
Thanks for any suggestions!

You could take the Greyliner hotel bus into downtown (>$10) and deal with it from there. I'm not familiar w/ where Hertz or Avis is located, but if they are downtown just find out which hotel is nearest their office. The Greyliner goes from the airport & loops thru maybe 6 or so of the major downtown hotels.

If you're trying to conserve cash you can take an express city bus straight from the south end of the terminal building on the lower airport drive to downtown non stop for about two bucks, depending upon time of day. The bus stops within a block of the downtown Seattle Avis dealer.

The downtown Hertz office is on Pike Street--near the Convention Center.
I detest the airport fees, but I think paying them is far better that spending time and money on taxis and limos and running myself ragged trying to avoid them. However, maybe you are young and don't mind using your time and energy in this pursuit.

I found that Budget has a free shuttle to there Kent office and then I can drop off at the airport and not get charged the additional airport taxes. Budget wasnt my first choice but I got a Hyundia Sonanat for 156.00 for 5 days.

VERIFY you won't have airport taxes with your airport drop off??? I used Alamo with a downtown pick up, walked there from a cruise ship, and dropped off at the airport, still charged airport taxes. This was in May.
