Sea Grill

I received a $50 coupon for this restaurant. My question - is it worth saving a few bucks to eat there? Or should I stick with the original plan and eat at Southside Cafe?

Kim, please give us a hint of what city you are talking about. Some of us may know of alternatives to both of them.

I thought I just posted in the New York forum. Didn't know it was both that and the U.S. forum. Sorry about that!

If you are talking about the Sea Grill at Rockerfeller Center, I think it is a very good restaurant. It is also fun to watch the skaters on the rink, as the restaurant looks onto the rink.

Sea Grill is good but very expensive. The gift certificate will cover an entree, half an app, and a soda.

Here is a funny story about the Sea Grill. Following a summer internship at a nearby intellectual property law firm, I and another summer associate were taken out to lunch by the hiring partner at the Sea Grill. The timing and the individual doing the inviting meant that we were going to be offered a full time position witht the firm. Just at the critical moment, when the offer was being made, an enormous -- and I mean the absolute largest -- cockroach crawled right across the table. The partner turned his nearly empty coffee cup over and plopped it right on the beast. In addition to us receiving an offer of employment, the firm got a free lunch!

About 6 years ago, I had lunch there (office is close by) and became EXTREMELY sick afterwards. I've never been back...

I've been several times...winter and summer.

It is a delightful place to eat. Enjoy!
