School Vacation Schedules For Disney Trip

Looking to book a trip in the Disney area. We are traveling without children and want to avoid school vacation schedules for late March through April. When should we reserve?

In the South Spring Breaks occur anywhere from March until about the 2nd week of April. I would think the 2-4th weeks of April would be your best bet.

Have fun.

Easter break is the basis upon which many (though not all)school children get vacation you should avoid scheduling Disney between March 22 - April 25. Easter is April 11, 2004.

In the midwest, the public schools tend to be the 3-4 weeks of March but private schools are always the week following Easter whenever that may fall. To avoid entirely, I'd go either very early March or the last week of April since Easter falls in mid-April.

In Connecticut, and probably much of New England, schools are closed the week of April 17th 2004.

New England has vacation the week of the 17th. You may want to consider the first week in March

I would go any time from January until the first week of March. Less crowded in Jan & Feb, but avoid Presidents week.
By late April, it's already getting hot.
Unless that doesn't bother you.

Disneyland or Disneyworld?
In Southern Ca a heck of a lot of schools are year round. You can bank on kids being there in mass nearly 12 months a year now.

I would go in early May, the parks are empty and the weather's perfect.

As those above have said, you really can not avoid vacation schedules March/April - if it must be during that time, I would suggest as late in April as possible.

One word of warning, it seems that many parents take their kids out of school to go to Disney, so they will not be kidless.

it is much too hot in may in my opinion, but i don't like hot weather...we went the first week of march many years ago and it was great. warm enough to swim by day (70s) and cool enough for a sweatshirt at night. and not crowded. went one other time in october around columbus day. it was too hot for us and much more crowded.

"Spring Break" is anytime Feb 28-Apr 30.Somebody somewhere is on "break" for whatevere reason...Monday thru Thursday will probably yield your best touring days...e.g, Epcot has fewer visitors on Mondays, with Wednesday being the most crowded.Magic Kingdom...the Kingdom sleeps typically Tuesday/Wednesday with moderate amounts of visitors Mondays/Thursdays.....DisneyStudios Mondays/Thursday a lull with lots of activity on Tuesday/Wednesday......have fun...

3rd or last week in april should get you clear of most college spring breaks in country and all of florida public schools spring break. The weather should be great too.

We were in Orlando last Presidents week and there were little to no crowds at all. Despite being warned it was busiest time of year. This may have been because of huge blozzard in east coast, we are from Ct. and drove down on valentines day.
Also our school vaction for spring is week before and after Easter as is westchester counties
