Savannah-Hamilton Turner Inn

Planning a trip in the Spring to Savannah. 3 Nights, 6 women. Has anyone had any exerience with the Hamilton Turner Inn? They have a Carriage House that sleepes 6. Am wondering about location, convient to attractions, safety, resturants close, etc. Can we walk around from there or would we need rent a car? I really appreciate any advice.

Thank you.

I did not stay there, but we stayed at a hotel that was a part of the old cotton exchange right on the river. The rooms were big and fairly inexpensive. We walked everywhere easily and it was safe at night.

Hamilton Turner Inn is in the heart Savannah's historic district - within easy walking distance to restaurants, sights, etc. Car wouldn't be necessary unless you're driving to say, Bonaventure Cemetary, Tybee Island, or anyplace outside of the historic district. Savannah is a very walkable city, and the squares are beautiful and worth enjoying at a leisurly pace. ENJOY!

If I am not to late, the anser is YES on all accounts. The location is great, with the ability to walk to attractions and restaurants. We parked the car and did not use it the entire time. Very safe. If still offered, do not miss Earl's tour. He actually worked for "Mandy", one of the prominant characters in "Midnight". My husband, who is a camping kind of guy, had to say he had a great time there. Go and ENJOY.
