As much as I love Thai (and usually eat Thai or Greek on the road) the food in Savannah is so good, I don't eat Thai there. There's a Vietnamese on Broughton that is supposed to be really good.
I eat at the other great restaurants instead.

The Hyatt was great. Convenient location, especially since it was right across the street from the Moon River Brewing Company. Try to get a room with a river view. We asked, and even though we got our room thru priceline, they gave us one.
Parking was $17 with in/out valet. Very convenient and probably less expensive than taking a taxi to/from the airport. At least it was for us as we also went out to Tybee Island.

DH and I are planning a mid-May trip to Charleston and Savannah. No problems with reservations in Charleston but vacancies at hotels and B & B's in Savannah are scarce. Finally found something at the Best Western Savannah Historic District on West Bay Street. Has anyone ever stayed here??
