Saugatuck Accomodations
I can see there are many posts regarding SW Michigan area and my husband & I are thinking of spending a long weekend in Saugatuck in mid-October. Any recommendations on where to stay? We are thinking of a B&B or something similar... but I would rather get feedback from other travellers rather than pick and choose from a general web site or google. We aren't looking for the most or least expensive place -just something quaint and comfortable.
We are in our mid-20s and will be driving from Indianapolis. While the artsy description of Saugatuck is what initially caught my eye, we are also looking forward to enjoying some good wine and tasty food and the outdoors.
Thanks for any feedback!

Just got back from there last night.
Look for my trip report later tonight.
We stayed at The Landings Inn. It was nice ~ reasonable. Very clean and a good location right on the river.
Within walking distance to everything ~ good food/drinks and shopping.

Hey Bagsarepacked - did you get to see Living Soul? And go to Oval Beach? I can't wait to read your trip report.
Sorry, Lightfoot, I live close enough by there that I never stay there - just visit. I had a friend stay at the Kirby House and loved it. Here's a link: http://www.kirbyhouse.com

In my experience of Michigan, many venues close just about the time your are planning your trip. Saugatuck is a very, very touristy place and most all of the venues literally close up. I know some of the restaurants do.
You may hit nice weather, or not. But on the coast it's not swimming weather at all as the Lake Michigan water temperature will be prohibitive.
So if you get rec's make sure they are open.
