Santa Fe - Parking around the Plaza

If we stayed at the Hilton Santa Fe or some other lodging on the Plaza, are there any parking options close by (other than the hotel parking, say on the street or a city parking lot?

Hi again, lovebug! There's a good public garage on San Francisco near the plaza that we always use. I don't think the Hilton is too far from the plaza, either, is it? Street parking is almost impossible. There are a couple of other public lots near the plaza, too. There are also public restrooms at these garage sites. You'll enjoy walking in that whole area... lots to take in.

The garage Jayne1973 mentioned is about a block or so from the Hilton. There are at least three other lots near the Plaza as well, but that one is closest to the Hilton.

Are the pay or municipal lots any cheaper than the hotel for daily rates? My experience (2004) is that they're about the same rate.

Agree with the others that street parking is nearly impossible for more than a couple of hours. And they DO ticket.

The lots are usually about $5 to $7, depending on what's going on in the plaza. Rates are lower in the evening. I thought the Hilton was close; I'd just walk.

Thanks Jayne. I think I misspoke. When I said "daily" I was thinking a 24 hour period...that might have more appropriately been called an overnight rate??

Can you park overnight in a public lot lot for $5-$7?

If you are staying at the Hilton you won't have to worry about parking around the plaza. The hotel is only 1 1/2 blocks from the Plaza. You can walk to just about everywhere you want to go. Chances are if you want to find other parking you'd end up just as far from your destination.
