Looking into condos and resorts on Sanibel...specifically with ocean front access. Would like to have a condo or room with a patio right on the beach. Would like to hear recommendations from anyone who has stayed in an ocean front condo or room in Sanibel. Thank you for any information.

To clarify, Sanibel is not the ocean as it's on the FulfnCoast. The ocean is on Florida's east coast. We spent many vacations right on the Gulf coast beaches in Sanibel but too long ago to recommend.

Thank you, but I know where the Gulf of Mexico is and where the Atlantic Ocean is relative to Florida. I think it's ok to use the term "ocean front" when referring to a resort or condo on the Gulf. Thank you for your input though. I've been to Sanibel multiple times but have never stayed in an ocean front condo and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks again for your input.

My friends rent a two-bedroom gulf front condo at Sanibel aRms every winter. View is sensational. Small pool. Dated furniture but fine for a rental. Clean.

We've rented oceanfront at Mitchell's Sandcastles because it is a pet-friendly place but those cottages are basically housekeeping types with full kitchens, etc., and may not be exactly what you are looking for.

Yes, the Gulf is by most people's standards "the ocean" just as the one outside my front window over here in Fort Lauderdale is also "the ocean."

Casa Ybel is also very nice; my friends used to rent there.
