Sandwich

I've been to the cape several times and have stayed in Eastham, Dennis, Brewster and Orleans, but this year we are going with another couple and each of us has a 2 year old. That being said, we were considering renting a house right on the beach in sandwich so it would be very convenient with the kids. I've only passed through sandwich and I'm worried about being so far from everything. Is there anything to do in Sandwich? For the most part we plan to be on the beach and maybe take some drives. Falmouth should be pretty close I think. It's the only town where it seems we can get something on the beach for a reasonable price. Any input would be much appreciated!

Also - Walking or biking along the Cape Cod Canal is a nice outing.

There is a short boardwalk at Town Neck Beach that crosses a salt marsh - nice scenery.

For shopping - Mashpee Commons is nearby.

And check out a Cape Cod Baseball League game - Bourne is nearby - for a (suggested) nominal donation you can watch some of the best college players, and the 2-year-old can run around too.

Some of my fondest memories as a kid centered around Sandwich. Used to love to sit on the canal and watch the big ships go by.

There's a big Christmas Tree Shop in Sandwich as well as a few outlets.

A few minature golf places on 6a.

I think you'll be happy with your choice.
