I too am interested in if anyone has stayed there. I am doing a lot of research on it. It looks very nice, it is my understanding it is a timeshare as opposed to individually owned units. I have found at least 3 companies that rent out there and they have 3 different prices. The difference between high and low is $85 a night for a 3-bedroom...big difference. If someone has rented there who did you use?

I can tell you both alot about Sands of Kahana I wored for a compeny that managed it for about 5 years. First of all there are many reasons the company I worked for stopped mananging the property but the main reason is our guests were being bothered by the time share people.
Let me tell you a bit about the property. I have been there a few times. The units are very large but the master bedroom is off the living room with a sliding door. The last time I looked at the units many were in deire need of upgrades. The company I worked for had the best units on property but They are in the timeshare now. There is one thing that will stick in my mind forever about this place and that is...The wind goes howling through the building and it's an awful sound!!!! The west side of Maui gets very windy.
On the up side of things. There are washer and dryers in the units. The units are larger than most in that area expecally for the price. There was a restranunt on site (don't know if it's still there) Most condo properties do not have this feature. The beach there is not bad. But many ocean view units do look over to another building as well as the beach. I have found one thing with this property people either love it or hate it there does not seem to be an inbetween. The only other thing I might point out is have a car because there is not much in that area. Oh the units do have air cond. too.
As for the multipal rentals out there some are by private individuals. Small Hawaiian leasing companies have a few units here and there but most of the resort is run by the time share company.
