San Francisco Weather in June

Going to SF, Healdsburg and Carmel first two weeks in June. What is the weather like at that time of the year? Can we wear shorts?

We're from the south and weather here in June, is very HOT!

THANKS!

Was there 2 years ago at that time and it was 80s. Perfect shorts weather. Not sure if that is typical.

In Healdsburg, wear your shorts. In Carmel, pack them at the bottom of your suitcase.

The average high in June ranges from high 60s to low 70s. That's shorts weather for plenty of people, but probably not for you, coming from the hot south (my friend who visits from Florida wears a coat when its 75 degrees).

Yes, 60-70's is cool for us. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 50 miles nw of New Orleans. You know.....Hurricane country.....But, I dont think I'll wear a coat in SF when it's 75.

Thanks for all the info.

Bring layers and you'll be great - it can be chilly and/or windy in SF and then sunny and warm later in the day or in another part of town. It really depends on what the fog and the wind are doing.

My first visit to SF was in the month of June several years ago. I took a swimming suit thinking that I might "go to the beach" a few times. I ended up wearing jeans, a turtleneck and jacket and was still cold! Just a few miles inland it was a different story - shorts were fine. Take layers and you'll be okay.

We were there last June, the first week. It was surprisingly warm with temps in mid70's. Everyone was surprised at the weather, but we were delighted not to need our jackets. Only used them on the night tour of Alcatraz and one windy drive by the ocean. It was perfect for renting/riding bikes over the bay bridge. Needed a sweatshirt there. So I guess, you just need to be prepared and hopefully, you wont need your jeans/jackets. Hope you weather is perfect!

We have a lot of micro-climates in Northern California. It should be quite hot in Healdsburg (but not humid). You'll enjoy having shorts there, but it is not very likely that you would wear them in SF. Jeans and/or lighter fabric pants with a variety of layers for tops will be what you need in SF. Carmel area can be sunny or foggy in June, but it will be pleasant daytime weather with coolness but not as cool as SF. A light jacket is a necessary item.
