San Francisco Transportation
Hello all,
I will be spending a couple days in SF and want to visit places in Mill Valley like Muir woods and Point Reyes.
How would I get there without a car? I heard that SF municipal transportation only travel within SF and not other areas.
Thanks,
Khoi

Buses, SF to Marin County, will get you north of the GG Bridge to the main towns but, as far as I know, you'll need a car to really see the best parts. The buses operate mainly for commuters.

Muir Woods is near but not 'in' Mill Valley. Pt Reyes isn't.
For Muir Woods:

For Pt Reyes you'd really want a car.

When will you be in the Bay Area? Because at certain times of the year there is a shuttle to Muir Woods. First you'd have to catch a bus from SF to the transfer point in Sausalito or Mill Valley (in Marin County)

There's also bus service to Pt. Reyes' Visitor Center (Bear Valley, but no bears). First you'd have to catch a bus from SF to the transfer point at the San Rafael Transit Center (in Marin County). Careful not to confuse "Pt. Reyes Station" for the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. Pt. Reyes Station is a little village somewhat nearby.
