I have never heard of this hotel. Do you know where it was located??

........it had another name in front of
the 'Kempinski' - 'twas a five star
boutique IIRC down from the Ritz-Carlton
(or at least in the vicinity). My DH
stayed there on business many times and
loved it. He thought it would be a
great place for us to stay on a weekend
break - but now it's lost! <sob>

I think perhaps Campton Place was once a Kempinski-affiliated property. Check it out and let us know if that's it.

OK, I looked at my SF notes (I keep notes from places I visit!) and it's definitely the Campton Place. I stayed there in 1997 and it was fab.

I have not stayed there but yes it is a beautiful hotel with a very good reputation of course. Have a wonderful visit to SF!
