San Francisco Hotel

My husband and I are planning on spending a weekend in San Francisco in February. We have narrowed our hotels down to Villa Forence, Hotel Nikko, Argent Hotel and Kensington Park. Any feedback on these hotels would be greatly appreciated!

I have stayed at the Argent, Villa Florence, and Kensington Park. They hotels themselves are not bad but the location of all three is not very good. Villa Florence and Kensington Park are in Union Square which is a really seedy and run down area. The argent is in the south of Market (SOMA) area which is an industrial/warehouse district and is also not the best place to be especially at night.

Use Priceline. Check www.biddingfortravel.com. Many folks have gotten Westin St. Francis for $70 a night.

I'm putting on a seminar for 100 local mental health professionals in San Francisco. Any suggestions on nice hotels, conveniently located for locals driving to and from the hotel from home.

Nina, You may want to look into some hotels near the SF Airport. Some that come to mind are the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport and the Villa Hotel on El Camino Real in San Mateo. They are conveniently located near the 101 freeway and have plenty of free parking.
