I can't think of any reason you would need a private tour of Sausalito unless someone in your group is handicapped, or has trouble waking. Take a ferry over there and enjoy the views across & back.
If you want to add on Muir Woods, Mill Valley, Mt Tam. and the views from atop the GGNRA, that's a different issue.

Sausalito is usually combined with Muir Woods, but if you don't plan on the woods, then ferry or Golden Gate transit bus are much better options.
For wine tour... can't you have a designated driver (who will later get you for that

Not sure what you mean by "rough"... if by ferry - get to the pier from your hotel, where are you staying? Or you can take a bus, they have soft seats like tour buses.
Then a pleasant short boat ride to the center of the village, walk around, shop, eat.
The only museum there I know of is the Bay Model (was free, maybe still is, and interesting things in there) on the edge of Sausalito, just a pleasant walk away from the pier.
Then a ferry or a bus back - whatever is more convenient to your hotel.
If you're asking if the bay will be rough, who knows if the day will be windy.

Do the China town walk "Wok" tours. Really amazing the thngs you walk by on your own that you don't see or understand but with a great (small) tour you really get so much more understanding. The good tours will talk about architecture, colors, symbols, teh markets and will take you to a very good locals Dim Sum.
