The issue for this plan will not be just be traffic on 19th Ave, but traffic getting to the CIty in the am rush hour. If you leave after 9 you should be OK.

Avoid driving in/through SF on a weekday morning.

It is one thing if you must -- but you have a total option so there is no way on God's Green Earth I'd choose doing it on a Mon AM.

Sure, after 9:30 ish the traffic gets better - not good, just better.

janisj, used to both. Drive all the time and on winding roads too. But not usually THAT winding and not usually for that long. I am glad I did it, but I sure wouldn't want to turn around and do it again right away!

Yeah, I would pick Hwy 1 over 280 in traffic any day. But I do like 101 too, and it's smooth enough that you can get into the "zone" when you drive.
