San Francisco and Vegas Trip Report
Thanks to all you guys my husband and I had a fabulous 9 day trip out to SF and Vegas. Here are some of the highlights-
- Explored Union Square, Chinatown, Embarcadero on foot, cable car, trolley. Stayed at the Hyatt, on Embarcadero.
- Took the Alcatraz tour which was well worth the $$$ and time. I LOVED IT!!!
- Ate at The Millenium and Greens Restaurant, both are vegetarian but real good, high quality food.
- Was not too impressed with the Pier 39/Fisherman Wharf area... it is probably more fun to see in the summer time.
- Took the cable car to near Lombard Street and walked the crooked portion up to the top. Then walked downhill to Ghirardelli Square.
- Took a guided tour of the Muir Woods and Wine country. We visited three wineries in Sonoma county- Cline Cellar, Homewood and Jacuzzi. It was very well worth the $$$ and it was through Extranomical.
- After 3 days in SF, we rented a car and drove down towards Santa Cruz and Monterey on Hwy 1.
- After spending the night in Monterey, continued driving towards Big Sur in the morning... and the 17 mile drive. This drive is NOT to be missed.. The california coastline is simply breathtaking. WOW!!
- Drove back to San Francisco (stayed the Hyatt airport) via Sunnyvale and Little India and ate at udipi. YUMMY YUMMY!!
- Took our flight to Vegas the following morning. It was my first trip to Vegas and I think I had a good time. I'm not a big gambler but I enjoyed seeing all the casinos and the lights.
- Watched Mystere at Treasure Island which was very good but I would skip it if you've watched La Nouba in Orlando.
- Stayed two nights at Monte Carloand one at the venetian.. both were excellent.. and Venetian was simply breathtaking!!!! I'm still yet to find words to describe that place.
- Did some shopping at the Outlet mall too.
All in all, a great trip and I will certainly go back to California some day!
