7-Day San Francisco, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Los Angeles Tour from San Francisco

Tour Code: 589-2372

I've lived in California all my life (I'm 72). I can't imagine wanting to go on this trip in only 7 days. And this trip also includes Yosemite and 2 other parks. Are all these destinations "drive bys" - or do they let you out of the bus???

This (tour above) isn't something that I'd consider. But a friend from England did a coach tour of the "West" and loved it, including the opportunity to socialize. For people who aren't particularly active & for whom just laying eyes on the highlights & taking a picture is what they want, these can be just the thing. My mother & her cousin who couldn't walk far did the same in Europe & had fun. If planning & negotiating unfamiliar territory is onerous, it's certainly a solution, being relieved of virtually all responsibility. I won't criticize & maybe one day . . . who knows?

I would not do this tour. There will be plenty to see and do in San Francisco and within a 2-3 hour drive: Monterey, Carmel, the coast, Redwood forests, Napa & Sonoma vineyards and wineries.

You may have planned it this way, but your dates include the Thanksgiving holiday (4-day weekend for most people). This will affect lodging availability and rates for at least half of your nights. Before you get too attached to specific destinations and an itinerary, you should investigate accommodations.
