San Fran Hotel Needed

We are spending one Friday night in San Fran before a weekend in Napa...where should we stay? Also, where should we head for a fun dinner?

Are you limited on budget at all? I love the suggestion by Ike but both places will cost you dearly plus Gary Danko fills up fast on reservations.

I just got back and loved the Orchard. Great price (for Union Sq.), location and beautiful. Go have one drink at the top of the Mark at night and another drink at Farallon. Didn't get to eat there.

I booked at The Orchard Hotel -- thanks for the recco. A lot of places were already booked and this was open and in a good price range for that great area!

Thanks!

Stayed at The Orchard a few years ago and agree, nice place. Great location.

Pretty nice restaurant there but in SF you can do much better.

Short walk down to Belden Pl. and their fine restaurants.
