San Diego Zoo in 3 hours!

Hello! My wife and I are flying into San Diego for a first time visit in late January, picking up a car rental and heading directly to the San Diego Zoo! However, we only have 3-4 hours to spend! Without rushing, what areas (besides the pandas) of the zoo, would you recommend as being the most worthwhile during our visit? Thanks!!

I don't know how to spell it, but the Siamang (?) monkeys are incredible.

With 3-4 hours you have time to see most of the Zoo.

My favorites are the hippos and the polar bears.

Try the double decker bus! It's been over 1.5 years since I've been, so my memory could be wrong, but I believe it's free (included in the admission price) and it takes about a half hour and covers most of the zoo. That way you could get a good overview of the place and then what stands out you could go back to after you get off the bus...

But, make sure you don't stand in line too long though--I don't think we waited too long, but we were there the minute they opened.

Good luck and have fun
