San Diego to La Jolla
I will be in the Gaslamp district on business and then plan to move out to the Grande Colonial for a leisure stay. I don't plan to rent a car. Is there a reasonable option for travel on public transportation with a large suitcase or is a cab the only way? If I take a cab, any ballpark on cost?
Thank you.
Thank you.

The cab makes the most sense timewise. Public transportation in San Diego is not the best other than properties near the trolley. Check with the hotel for it might have a shuttle. Cab will be over $50. There is a website for San Diego buses that will tell you what buses to take and how long it will take. I don't have a link.

Hi nccounty! My friends who are flying in to meet me at the Grande Colonial are renting a car so I won't need one as well. It looks like cab is the way to go even though it is pretty expensive. I would rather spend the $$$ on prosecco, but life is full of sacrifices!
My high school reunion in Park City will be next Sept. I am looking forward to it very much. This September we were in Montana. check out my trip report, it was a fabulous time. I would return in a second.
Cheers.

Oh, it's NEXT September....we were just there in Park City at the end of September this year and it was just spectacular. We were catching the early peak of fall colors.
Have a great time in San Diego!....I am leaving town tomorrow to head to Chicago. If you're looking for a nice resto in Gaslamp, I enjoyed the tasting menu at Blue Point Coastal Cuisine.

Well, I figured out the cheapest way to do this trip was by the #30 bus from in front of the Sofia on Broadway to La Jolla Square. However if you are schlepping luggage as I was you end up taking a cab for about $42.
Great trip. Report coming and photos being loaded to Facebook. Lucky those of you who live there!
