San Diego Restaurants

Going to San Diego at the end of September - Giants game at Petco Park - need restuarant suggestions. Staying at Hotel Solamar and I believe they have a good restaurant in the hotel. I Will be there for 3 nights with one of them at the ball park. Dressy casual $25-50 range. Also thinking of going to Tijuana - haven't been there in years. What is the best way to get there without using your car.

I would really think about Tijuana. It has become very dangerous, lots of murder and drugs. Solamar is a great hotel, nice bar at the very top. Have not eaten in their restaurant but on 5th ave lots of great Italian restaurants.

Hopefully you will be here for at least one Sunday. If so, enjoy one of the 47 champagne brunch buffets San Diego county has to offer. My personal site can help you choose.

By the way, skip TJ!

Happy brunching, Jim

If you must go to Tijuana (which I don't advise), take the trolley. But be prepared for long waits at the border.

You'll be staying reasonably close to Balboa Park; so I'd suggest having a meal there at Prado.

Well, you've got me thinking twice about Tijuana. It has been 15 years since I have been there - from your reports, doesn't sound as fun as it was then. Thanks for the advise
