San Diego Pools

Please advise which hotel has the best pool.
Marriott Marina, Sheraton Marina, Marriott
Coronado or Loews Coronado. I promised my
son we would close out our Southern Cal trip
at a hotel with a great swimming pool. Also
want nice grounds and rooms. Help please ??
Looking for a little luxury.

Thanks

coronado hotel has a lovely large pool. the only thing i wouldn't like is that there are so many tourists staring down to check it out.
what time of year are you going? if in winter, make sure it is well heated.

Thanks - but not interested in the Del Coronado. What about the hotels I have listed? Anyone. Really want to find nice ground and pool.

Thank you

I think that Loew's pool in Coronado is nicer than the Cornado Marriott. At Loews there is actually three pools, one for kids, one for families and one for adults. It also overlooks the marina and has comfy chairs. I am not familiar with the pools at the other two hotels.

I've stayed at Loews resort. It has three pools...but they're all pretty tiny...only 4feet deep at it deepest. But the little kids love them...and for the adults, there is a great bar and restaurant poolside...and lots of chaise lounge chairs. Also, at dinner they bring out a build-your-own pizza station. Pretty good ingredients, too.

Also, keep in mind that the Lowes resort isn't really in Coronado "proper." It's actually on the Silver Strand, about 5-miles south of the actual town of Coronado. It's really kinda in the middle of nowhere. But right across is Silver Strand state beach, which is a great beach...and also the Bay side (San Diego Bay). All Loews guests can take a free golf cart shuttle to the beach...and you even get free beach umbrellas and sand chairs. If you want to go strolling thru the town, you'll have to drive the 5-miles to the town of Coronado. If this is your preference, then the Del is your better bet. It's right in the heart of the town...and it's situated on an awesome beach. There's also way more activities going on around the hotel grounds.

I have only seen the Marriott Marina (where I have stayed twice) and the Hotel Del Coronado which I wasn't impressed with. The Marriott Marina pool is shaped like a lagoon and it is very long (not really really deep though). It also have a smaller pool just next to it and a jacuzzi. On one side of the large pool is a waterfall (not one you can swim in) which is nice. I personally loved this pool and I doubt there are many like it at other hotels in the area. The great thing about the pool is that the hotel is primarily business travelers and there are rarely many people in the pool, especially in the evening. We usually had the whole pool to ourselves. I have pictures from my trip from last year at the link below.

or try this which is a direct link to a picture of the pool. I have better ones but have not uploaded them yet.
