San Diego Old town question

Hi we are headed to San Diego this week. We are staying in Old Town. I recall a wonderful fun place called Casa De Bandinis Mexican Restaurant. Is it still there? A relative in S.D. thinks it is not functioning anymore for some issues related to Old Town. Does anyone know as we have planned to have dinnner there our first night. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I feel better all ready. The first thing I do when I hit S.D is Mexican Food. I know there are others, but I love this place. Looks like I am in for some warm weather as well. That will be great.

Casa de Bandini has a wonderful patio surrounding a fountain, with a mariachi band playing. Best to get there and in line when the restaurant first opens, as reservations are not taken.

Warning: Margaritas are all over-sized!

We will go Wed. p.m. (St. Patty's day.) Do you think it will be so busy mid-week?

Is it within walking distance of the LaQuinta in Old Town?

Everytime I've ever been there -- if it's open, it's busy.

I would imagine that this would be especially true on St. Patricks Day night.
