San Diego Hotel/ three to pick from
Which hotel would you recommend for two adults in early 40's: Marriott on Coronado, Humphrey's Half Moon Inn, or Best Western Blue Sea Inn & Suites? We have seen all the "must see" sights, so are more interested in beach, balcony, and pool. All three of these are within our price range. Would like some restaurants, and interesting walking near hotel as we probably won't have
a car. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated, need to book soon.

I would choose the Marriott on Coronado. Its a lovely hotel located right on the bay across from downtown. An easy ferry ride to the downtown gaslamp area and seaport village. Although you are not on the ocean beach, you are a short distance (by car) from the beaches at the Hotel Del Coronado which are some of the best San Diego has to offer. The Half Moon Inn is on Shelter Island and not on the beach. I am not familiar with the Best Western but generally speaking a Marriott will be much more upscale.

Thanks for the replies. Would appreciate any information on the area around the Blue Sea Inn which is on Pacific Beach near the Catamaran Resort. Reasonable rates, and right on the beach. Have also been told to stay at Loews on Coranado, but it's really away from it all (Silver Strand)if you want to walk. Thanks!

The Pacific Beach area can be a fairly young crowd; younger than 40's. It would be a nice spot if you wanted to find yourself on a long wide beach with a boardwalk and lots of people. Lots of restaurants in the area and things to do. A very different feel than Coronado which is more quiet and relaxing. Yes, Loews is nice but it is quite isolated and a LONG walk to anywhere. Have you considered the Catamaran? I know that it is a very nice hotel right on the bay and across the street from the ocean. I'm sorry but I am not familiar with the Best Western at all.
