Leave for San Diego on Sunday for a week. Any reccomendations for restaurants..cheap or fairly expensive? Also unusual food shops or street markets? Thanks in advance!!

Lots of locals on this board. The first question you need to answer to get the best recommendations:

Where in San Diego will you be? It's a large city in area.

We will be at Paradise Point Resort for a conference, but will have a car. Does anyone know if there is public transport from this hotel into the city?

Here are some restaurants that we enjoyed on our recent trip:

www.hobnobhill.com Great breakfast and worth the drive

www.cafechloe.com Good french cafe where you can sit in or out. Great tarts, salads, deserts.

www.cafesevilla.com We shared a bunch of tapas here, and they were all good.

www.monsoonrestaurant.com One of the better Indian restaurants we have been to.

www.lavacheandco.com La Vache's is a casual French restaurant with good food and reasonable prices.

Cafe Lulu on F street: Good sandwiches, salads, coffee. You can sit in or out.

sorry to say that paradise point is in a location that you will need to drive to any restaurants except the one on-site. but, if you drive into the pacific beach area, there are plenty to choose from in all price ranges. or turn right out of the hotel and go explore ocean beach area (newport avenue). some fun restaurants arount there.

Thanks Itt and jd. We did get to Mosoon and thought it was excellent...and we have just returned from a month in India.
Thank you for the info about Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach. I particularly liked Pacific Beach..especially those rooms at the Crystal Hotel on the Pier!
Thanks again!
