Also, ideas for must see place. We will be there Sat-Mon.

You'll notice that I did not mention the Columbia restaurant. IMO, their food is good, but not as good as any of the other restaurants I have mentioned.

Also, it is somewhat of a tourist trap and one of about 6-8 other Columbia's around the state. This may qualify them as a chain restaurant. I know a lot of people eat there, but the other restaurants I have given you are all better.

I did see your previous post. I will check out the websites. Will avoid Columbia's. Certainly don't want anything resembling a chain restaurant. Not when there are so many other fine choices.

OrlandoVic and I enjoy some of the same places. Let me add two to your list to consider.
Cafe Alcazar located in the Lightener Museum building. It is a small restaurant in the swimming pool. The food is quite good and the atmosphere is very conducive to conversation.
Opus 39 is a fixed menu restaurant with wine specialties. I found it very good on my last visit. It is pricey.
Have fun, it is a great place for a weekend visit.

He is absolutely correct about
Cafe Alcazar. They don't take reservations and only serve lunch. Don't miss it and be sure to take your camera! If you have trouble finding them, you can phone them at 904-824-7813.

After you finish your meal, be sure to walk across the street and visit Old St. Augustine Village <http://www.old-staug-village.com/>.

Vic i am working my thru your list. Tried Gypsy Cab tonight for the early bird choises. Price ok but I would rate the meal a 6.5 out of 10.
Did find a really good value at Seafood Kitchen which is on A1A near the Oasis bar. Excellent blacked fish with a tasty broccoli salad and very fresh tasting cole slaw. All in our meal was $18.50 before tip.Rated it a 9 out of 10.

Our meal above was $18.50 for two.

Vic how do you rate Theo's on King st?

I've never been to Theo's on King st. I always seem to drive right by it.

Another vote for Cafe Alcazar for lunch. We also had a nice lunch in the lovely courtyard of the Old City House. A must for afternoon pastries is Denoel French Pastry on Charlotte St.

If you like the beach, Anastasia State Park is beautiful - just a couple miles away from the old city.

You are in for a treat - St. Augustine is very unique.

Sorry I didn't write back. We had a very enjoyable weekend in St Augustine. The weather was perfect. Day temps were about 70. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. Took the "trolley", and saw everything we planned to see.
We ate in Cafe Alcazar. The food was very good, the atmosphere unique.
We also ate in Creekside Dinery, food was tasty, location very nice, service attentive.
