Sacramento to Reno Drive

Hello,
My Family is looking to drive from Sacramento to Reno this month April 25th, leaving at 11pm. What is the drive like at that time. How long will it take us. Please let me know. Thanks.

at 11PM almost no one will be on the road - as long as you stay awake it will be fine.

depending from which part of Sacramento - 2-2.5 hours

It's a multi-lane, divided freeway the entire trip. That being said, it is also an important commerce route so trucks are frequent and plentiful. At 11 PM you will likely have the road largely to yourself.

I can see no good reason to arrive in Reno at 1:30AM unless you have a free nice room waiting for you.If you are landing late at SMF, plan on stopping at Auburn or Colfax.

What if the OP is arriving from a more westerly location and it "feels" like 8 or 9 PM to them and not 11? What if this person is a night person? Are either of those good reasons?

Or just maybe they live live in Sacramento.

Seems like a a pretty straightforward question

Maybe "live live" means they have been there for a long time

As long as the weather is clear and the driver isn't fatigued, I don't see any reason not to make the drive at that time of night.

I am one of those people who does just fine at 11pm.........but don't ask me to do anything at 6am.

As janisj says, it will be approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Weather is sometimes a factor, but it should be okay the end of April (no guarantees, though!).
