Sacramento Airport
Has anybody flown out of Sac lately? I'm wondering what the security line is like? I have a 10:20am flight Tuesday 9/5 to Denver & wonder how much time I need to alot. Usually it's pretty easy dealing with SMF. O - I'm flying on Frontier if that makes a difference - not sure which terminal that is.

Hi cobbie, the Sacramento Airport website states that one should be at there 90 to 120 minutes before the flight depature. You will be using Terminal B which is not as busy as Terminal A (which is what Southwest Airlines uses). Have a happy and wonderful time in Colorado!!

Unfortunately - no telling what it will be like on Tuesday. Sometimes the security queues are really short and some times they are awful. Being the first work day after a holiday weekend there will probably be more business travelers than normal.
The good thing is you are using Term B and a lot less traffic through that one. But the security screening area is also smaller so it can get congested.
I'd personally try to be there 2+ hours ahead. The bad thing is if the lines are short, there are many fewer food/shopping options in Term B.

I flew out of Sac a week after the new rules came in and there was no problem.
Flew Southwest to San Diego- lines moved quickly- people were checking bags instead of carry on so less to search - got to the airport much earlier
than needed.
Boarding and deplaning went faster too as less carry on crammed into the overheads

I regularly fly out of Terminal B. It is almost always on United so I don't have direct experience with Frontier. However, to save myself time, I always check in online, use curbside luggage check in and then proceed directly to the security line. If you are concerned about the time, you should try to do the same thing, although I am not sure if Frontier has curbside luggage check in at SMF. Perhaps someone else can answer that. In any event, the absolute longest I have ever had to wait in a security line in Terminal B was 25 minutes. Generally, it takes about 10 - 15 minutes.

I flew in and out of Sac airport this past Wednesday (8/30) for a business meeting on Southwest. Going back, I arrived at the airport at around 3:45 for my 5:35 flight and I was WAY TOO early. I just breezed through security--there were no lines at all. Hope this helps!

LOL!
We still haven't decided where T'giving will be....was thinking Mont/Carmel/Santa Cruz, LV but now maybe Portland?
After 3 weeks in Italy we may just stay home at this place we found called "The Poor House"...not to be confused with one of my fave bars in Hartford CT, The Pour House!
BTW...I bet Cobbie's hair will look really nice in Denver!
