Ruth's Chris in Maui

Has anyone been to Ruth's Chris restaurant in Maui. Was it good? Should I go somewhere else?

Ruth's Chris in Maui is like Ruth's Chris in any location. It's a chain of upscale steak restaurants - if you've been to one you've been to them all.

Why not try a local restaurant with much better food and Hawaii's local seafood? Mama's, Pacific O's, Sansei, Roy's come to mind.

Aloha Tresa,
We had New Year's Eve dinner a few years ago at Ruth's Chris in Maui. We had a window table, so we had a wonderful sunset view. Other than the location, the other posts are right - it's just like any other Ruth's Chris. They fo have good, but pricey food. Other than your meat entree, you can share the potatoes, vegetables, etc. For a wonderful view & great food, I'd go to Mama's FishHouse instead. There are so many great restaurants on Maui, that I'd choose not to go to a chain.
Enjoy wherever you decide to go!

We always end our trip each each at Ruth's Chris because our 2 teenage sons love it. Our meal last week was pretty good (my husband's NY steak was tough though). It is probably not quite as good as the Ruth's in Beverly Hills, but much better than the one in the San Fernando Valley near L.A.(that one is horrible). Our favorite restaurant is Nicks at the Kea Lani. EXTREMELY good and they do have steaks as well.

Skip Ruth Chris. Roy's is so good you may dine there more than once like I did. It's so good.

Their meatloaf is to die for.

Don't do chains (although Roy's has become one.) You will kick yourself for it after getting home. Dine at some new places while visiting. Roy's is very different on Maui than any other I've seen.

I have to agree about skipping the chains (Ruth Chris AND Roy's). IF I had to choose between the 2, I would go with Roy's as it is different than other Roy's.

But, as others have stated, there are so many other "non chains" available. I would suggest Pacific O's.

If I had a choice between chains, Ruth Chris or Roy's I would take Ruth C hands down!!!
Roy's plates look nice but not much food on them and oh soo expensive!

Aloha!
