In my city, I wish people would honk more, because drivers who are too distracted to notice the light has changed, or to notice anything around them, really, because their phones are so fascinating to them, drive me insane.

Call me crazy--go ahead--but I like the honking in NYC. It's a language, with a series of short beeps sometimes acting as a "hello" between cab drivers, a short single beep to a delivery truck from another truck or a cab being a courteous warning from one professional driver to another, or a long, sharp blast meaning "what the &^^%^^$*# do you think you're doing, you &*#$%!!!" Traffic in NYC simply requires more than turn signals.

Maybe you also like the screaming fire trucks and ambulances that fly down 79 St full blast (although - at least they are supposedly on some sort of emergency call). Or maybe you enjoy sidewalk jackhammers all day and into the night. A "courteous" warning to another driver is no problem - but how about those drivers who blast at a car in front of them who can't proceed because of traffic conditions? Do you think that traffic will move faster if you keep honking?

No, jroth, you're right, I do not like any of those things.
