Roy's or Kimo's on Maui

Can anyone give me a review of Roy's on Maui? How about Kimo's in Lahaina

Jim, Roy's is a GREAT RESTUARANT AS WELL AS a sister Nicolina's next door. There is a Roy's on each island and I have never been disappointed. On Maui, try Hailemaile Gen'l Store and Mama's Fish house. I believe Kimo's is part of a chain of restuarants throughout the islands - with different names and the are good but not at Roy's level. Aloha

In the Maui News 1997 Annual Reader's Poll, Roy's Kahana finished first in the category, "Best Overall Restaurant."

Avalon in Lahina was wonderful. It was written up in Bon Appetite several times and on CNN. I liked it better than Roy's. Sitting in the courtyard was a great people watching spot. Unique presentation of food. We have a Roy's now here is Seattle.

Probably Roy's is better but Kimo's is a fun place and the location right on the waterfront in Lahaina is pretty nice, especially at sunset. Food was pretty good when I ate there last year. By the way, Troy Aikman of Dallas Cowboys was at the next table with his entourage so it could'nt be that bad. right?

Roy's is a really great restaurant - make SURE you get the chocolate souffle - it's really amazing. We enjoyed Kimo's as well - it was my husband's favorite restaurant on Maui - much more casual than Roy's. If the timing works out, try and get an outside table at the bar while you're waiting for your table. You can catch a great view of the sunset. Enjoy!

Kimo's by far. Relax, order a mai tai, order some pupu's, watch the sunset and pay half of what Roy's would cost you. Beyond a doubt, Kimo's is it, hands down! p.s. dont forget to buy a kimo's tank top or t-shirt. I travel all over the world, and whenever I wear my Kimo's shirt, inevitably someone taps me on the shoulder and we talk about Maui. I'm jealous!

Two of my most favorite restaurants! They are both fabulous - but the atmosphere at Kimo's is soo much better, especially if you get a table outside on the upper deck. The food is awesome too. And the drinks knocked me out. Roy's is excellent but I didn't like the atmosphere half as much as at Kimo's.
If you can, go to both. Either way, enjoy!

Kimos Absolutely. It has been the best forever. It sits overlooking the water and has atmosphere. Super lunches also.
