Rooftop bar for July 4th?
We'll be in NYC on July 4th and I'm looking for a nice rooftop bar where we can have drinks, maybe a light dinner and see the fireworks.
Any suggestions?

Looking for rooftop bar in NYC for July 4/22 fireworks
(Sorry if you're getting this twice. I don't think I specifically chose NY when I posted earlier.)

Google your question and a list of rooftop bars in Manhattan and Brooklyn will pop up! Good luck. It is a fabulous experience. We were lucky to go up on the rooftop of a friend’s apartment building several times to see the fireworks on the Hudson River.
The fireworks are on the East River this year.

Thanks, HT, I've googled and have a bit of a list and I've sent queries off to them to see what's up on the 4th (e.g. reservations? tickets?). I'll be surprised if I hear anything back but it's worth a try. I'm hoping to stay in Manhattan just to make life easier with other plans that day and evening. My hotel (Omni Berkshire) has a rooftop bar but they said that unfortunately the building doesn't get a fireworks view.
Now I'm wondering if the concierge at our hotel can advise me about this and maybe even make a reservation. I might try that!

You might give this place a call https://www.opheliany.com/videos/. It's in a good spot, but the UN building may block your view. It wasn't open when I lived in the neighborhood.

Thanks, nycguy. I've got a list of rooftop bars and I'm trying to get a bit more info on a couple of them. I also might call the concierge at my own hotel and see if they can recommend something and perhaps even make a reservation for us.

No luck yet about a place to see the fireworks. Ophelia looks lovely but their website specifically says there's not a view of the fireworks. I seem to be able to buy tickets for One World Observatory.
Oops, never mind. The website says that tickets are not available to be purchased at this time. I don't know if that means they're sold out or what.
Suggestions still welcome, please.

As it turns out we didn't end up bothering with the fireworks on the 4th. We visited with friends and then went out for dinner.
Thanks for your list though. I'll keep it because my next 'theme visit' for NY is going to be 'bars I've always wanted to go to'. We did a theme visit a couple of visits ago of 'things we've never done in NY before' and it was lots of fun. We ended up walking across the Brooklyn bridge, exploring DUMBO, and a few other things mixed in with our regular stuff.
We're not huge drinkers but there are a few bars I've always wanted to visit like the Oak Room at the Plaza, the Campbell Apartment in Grand Central and the King Cole Room. Plus I have a list of piano bars that look like fun.
I'll start a new thread asking for suggestions when we're ready to go!
