Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort, Florida Special....

Hi, just wondering if anyone can comment again on this. I was just offered a great deal by this resort to, of course, attend a timeshare presentation, and get a 2 night 3 day stay for $234.00 total charge which sounds like a great deal to me. It is for June 2008 before we leave out of the Port Canaveral on our Disney Cruise. Very tempted to take it, as it is for a two bedroom villa which is what we need with three kids. Should I do it?? Anyone stayed in these units recently??? Thanks in advance!!

I thought most timeshare deals let you stay for free. Charging you $117 a night so they can sell you something? And way out of season -- June, no less? I'd call them back and tell them I was interested, but would they comp the stay. That is if you are sure you can say no to the high pressure sales.

June is when we need the rooms, this is high season for them too, summertime. I have found that usually you have to pay something for the room. This resort goes for around $300/night at this time, so I thought this was a pretty good deal. Looks like a very nice resort also. We will not buy, just want the deal.

When did June become the "high season" anywhere in central to southern Florida? I must have missed that newsflash.
I'd still try my approach. They are DESPERATE to sell these time shares.

Have you read the reviews on Trip Advisor? It seems the two biggest complaints are that the main building of this "beach resort" is 1/2 mile from the beach and you need to take a tram to get there.
Also over and over again people complain that they were not allowed to leave the time share presentation which is supposed to be 90 minutes for much longer -- many people saying 3 to even 3 and a half hours. Just so you are aware.

And Holy Smoke. I just realized you are talking bout June of 2008!!! Who knows what kind of discount rates you could get on your own before then without the presentation.

Yes, I do realize that it is a long time away, but rates for this June are about $330/night for the one bedroom villa. I am pretty good at being blunt and saying "no way" are we buying here during the presentation, which we just had at Sheraton's Vistana in Orlando, we left after half hour, they knew we were not buying. June is busy in Florida from what most people say is because it is the start of when the kids are out of school. And I do for sure know, that it is Disney's busy time for the parks and cruises also from all of my travel and research. We need to travel in June so my girls don't miss school. Thanks for all of your comments, I appreciate the help. I did know that there is only one oceanfront building and the rest are near the pool. The one oceanfront building is by the week only and we only need two nights. For $117/night, I have decided that I think it will be fine, especially with having a big two bedroom villa. They also give you another two night stay certificate at some 51 resorts or something if you come to their timeshare spiel. (sp??) Thanks again!
