Romantic Weekend Trip from Washington D.C., any suggestions?

I would like to take a weekend trip with my boyfriend somewhere nearby. I have a car and am willing to do a bit of driving, but wanted to go somewhere close enough that I can relax rather than spend the whole weekend driving. I don't particularly want to do something super touristy, and since we live in D.C., I would like to escape from the city life. I would love to go to the beach, but don't know of anything close by. Please include suggestions of where to stay if you respond to this post. I am on a somewhat limited budget (wouldn't want to spend more than $120/night on a hotel). Please help!

Do you consider 130-150 miles "close" as in Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City?

Yes, 130-160 miles would be appropriate. Since it's just for the weekend I don't particularly want to spend 6 hours driving somewhere. But up to 4 hours driving would be fine.

Also, I should add that I would prefer to stay in a B&B or small hotel over a larger one.

You could drive to Crisfield and take the 12:30pm ferry to Smith Island.

I might suggest the Asa Cline House B&B (in Yellow Spring, WV) near Winchester, VA. It's not the beach, but it's out in the country and away from the city hustle and only about 80 miles drive. Also very, very reasonably priced at around $100/night. Winchester has some good restaurants and a few sights to see but is mostly for relaxing.
