Romantic restaurants in the Sonoma Valley
We will be in the Sonoma Valley for our first anniversary. Can anyone suggest a nice, romantic and reasonable priced restaurant in the Sonoma Valley. By reasonable, I mean around $150 with wine. We'll be staying in Santa Rosa, but we'll have a car. Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions.

Rachel, I can recommend two great restaurants in Sonoma, right off the square, that would fit the bill as romantic and not terribly expensive. First, Cafe La Haye, which is a tiny restaurant with incredible food and wonderful service. They are closed on Mondays, FYI, and because it is so small you really need to make reservations. I think they have a website, you might want to do a google search.
The other restaurant is across the street from Cafe La Haye, Della Santina's Trattoria. At Della Santina's definitely ask for a table outside on the patio. In the evenings they have twinkling lights, beautiful trees overhanging and it is very romantic. The food is delicious and we had outstanding, very personal service last weekend.
Try to arrive in the square an hour or more before your dinner reservations so you have time to stroll around and enjoy the square. Lots of great shops for window shopping and some wine bars for tasting. Enjoy!

Kal, I thought of you while reading the menu and almost ordered the gnocchi in your honor! I had the steak special instead, smothered in mushrooms, and it was heaven. We were this huge party of 13 and they accomodated us outside. We had two kids and they made special kid's pasta for them and brought it first, just like when we were in Italy. I totally felt transformed to Tuscany. Thanks to you and Suzie for pointing us there! We'll definitely be back, maybe a more intimate party (of two) next time.
