Romantic Restaurant in Westchester/Rockland Counties

Can someone please recommend a romantic restaurant with really good food in either Westchester or Rockland County? Cuisines: American, French, Seafood, Spanish, Asian (just about anything, really). Price: doesn't matter. Thanks!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns; Equus at Castle on the Hudson, La panitierre -
if you go on opentable.com and do a search for westchester/rockland county, there is a whole list of romantic restaurants.
I can vouch for the food at Blue Hill - very wonderful. And the farm and the restaurant are beautiful - and romantic in the sense that it's a romantized version of farming!

I wanted to go to Blue Hill but looked on Open Table last week and they had no availability. I'll check again for cancellations.

Call the restaurant directly, most restaurants only allot a certain number of tables to opentable. Also, the bar at Blue Hill is lovely, and actually cozier and more romantic - a very sweet place to share some food and wine

MP - Is the bar just a bar or are there tables? We love dining at bars and if reservations aren't required that would be a great alternative.

It's a long bar with enough space to enjoy your evening. I don't believe there were any tables by the bar area. You don't need reservations for the bar but do note that it is a more limited menu than the restaurant.

It's a bar and some couches/chairs with small, end tables - very "lounge," but it is also the reception area/entrance to the restaurant, and people are entering and exiting. But the bar is a real bar, there is a raised counter, stools, a bartender . . .

Le Chateau in south Salem
La Cremaille in Bedford
The Farmhouse at Bedford Post

Fairfield County in CT has some wonderful ones, that are close to Westchester in both New Canaan and Ridgefield, if that would work.

Sure - recommendations in Fairfield would be appreciated too. We might be there Thursday night so another recommendation would be good.

Is Xavier's connected to Restaurant X? I've heard good things about the latter restaurant.

PS: The food at both Xavier's and Blue Hill is excellent. But, the "romance factor" definitely goes to Xavier's!
