I am driving from San Diego to Seattle in July. I have the whole month and plan on stopping and hiking in various places. I will have my dog with me. So far San Diego to cabin in Trinity Alps 3 nights. Then Bend Oregon 2or more nights, Eugene 2 or more nights, Portland, Seattle. I plan on driving home the coast. Any recommendation for must see beauty, hikes, lodging? I am really open as to schedule and places as long as they are dog friendly. I am unfamiliar with Bend and Eugene. Any suggestions appreciated.

The route from Bend to Eugene should go over Rt. 242 (McKenzie Pass) Stop at the Dee Wright Observatory at the top of the pass.
Lots of great hikes in the Bend area.

It sounds like you plan on driving from San Diego to Trinity County in one go . . . that is one hellacious haul. Like 12 hours without a single stop. So really more like 14+ hours.

No I will be stopping in Martinez, Ca. first. that is long enough
