closest casinos to San Diego

I would like to drive to a casino that is close to downtown San Diego. Are there any that are close?

While we were in San Diego in January we took a drive into the countryside and had lunch at this place 25 miles north: http://www.barona.com/

The setting is beautiful and the casino probably the best around.

I get a bit confused with all the Casinos around - but this one - Valley View - has perhaps the best buffet (only been there once) - and if you join the player's club when you arrive - no cost- then the buffet is free. I think it's not that far from Barona? http://www.valleyviewcasino.com/

And a bit further is perhaps the biggest one - with the best shows/biggest theater - is Pachanga. http://www.pechanga.com/

Here is a link: you may find other things about San Diego on this site too.

http://www.sandiego.org/nav/Visitors/WhatToDo/Casinos

In general all casinos are about the same distance acouple of hours inland (away from the ocean and bay) but not all have hotels,

I like Viejas: easy to find East out Interstate 8 east and lots of great outlet shopping nice venue for concerts too, with some Indian history lessons too, but no hotels.

Harrahs is just like Vegas, except in San Diego.

Valley View is the newest hotel and has a free lobster buffett and

The easiest one to get to from downtown is Viejas and it also has a big outlet mall in it.

If you do like drinks don't go to Barona. They only serve it in 3 of their restaurants.
