Restaurants in Honolulu and North Shore
Hi! I will be traveling to Honolulu and the North Shore for my honeymoon for 11 days in October. What are some restaurants to check out. All price ranges would be fine, any info you have would be great. We are staying at Outrigger Waikiki Reef on the Beach and Santa's by the Sea on the North Shore. Thanks!

Closer to your hotel in Waikiki I enjoyed Buzz's steak house on Calistoga. It's a normal restaurant with good food and nice salad bar, decent service and prices, and was a welcome relief from the snootier places elsewhere in town.
That said, for a fancier meal I loved the restaurant on the veranda surrounding the banyon tree at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider. I had an excellent fix-price 3 course meal with wine there one celebratory evening.

Not huge gourmet destinations but the Outrigger on the Beach has 3 restaurants and the Hula Grill is good and we liked the steakhouse(can't remember the name) but Dukes was very disappointing,so if you want to stick close those are reliable dining choices.

Diamond Head Grill at the W Honolulu had very good food and a cool vibe.
L'Uraku, which is about a 10 minute cab ride away from the Outrigger also had excellent food and reasonable prices (in a somewhat brightly lit, whimsical dining room).
Also, for an over the top, amazing and romantic dining experience, try La Mer at the Halekulani (it is very expensive but worth it for the experience).

I believe Alan Wong still has 2 restaurants there: 1 at the Ala Moana Mall and 1 on Honolulu. Both are excellent! The one in Honolulu is a little more expensive. For good ol' Hawaiian cooking, venture out of Waikiki and go to any L & L Drive-in (fast food), KC Drive-in in Honolulu (similar to a Denny's), or Zippy's. Egg's N Things in Waikiki is good too, but VERY crowded, so go early. Also, the food court in the Ala Moana Mall and the Pearl City Mall has some AMAZING food!

Ditto recommend for Ala Moana food court. Pick up a fantastic roast chicken diner with 3 sides for ~$8 at Lahaina Chicken... take it back and eat it at Ft DeRussy park while you watch the sunset.
